Having lived in the south for almost 5 years now, life can be very laid back. Before, when we were still living in Quezon City, it's so easy to just go out and bar hop at night (which was why we frequently watched Brownman Revival then) or visit the various malls all the way to Makati. Now, going out of Alabang can be such a hassle in terms of traffic, distance, time spent and money spent on gas and toll fees. So if we wanna go shopping, we just go to Festival Mall most of the time since it's just 5 minutes from our house, or to Alabang Town Center if we want a different vibe. We rarely even go to SM Southmall because though it's still quite near, traffic in that area can be horrendous! We find it more valuable to go out of town (like Batangas or Caliraya) than go to SM Southmall. LOL!
NUVALI
Anyway, one Saturday afternoon, our original plan was to check if the wakeboarding faclity in Nuvali is already open. I heard that it's supposed to open last year, Oct. 26 to be exact, but unfortunately, that is not yet the case. We still went to Nuvali one Saturday afternoon just to see if there's anything new. Last time I visited this place was in 2010 when houses were still being built in this still new ecopolis.
I guess it was still a good thing to go to Nuvali that weekend because unlike before when I was touring with fellow bloggers, this time around, I went with my hubby and my sister and we had a wonderful time! I realized how easy it was to go there and how fun it was to get lost in all the activities Nuvali has to offer...
We parked near Solenad retail center and stayed at Solenad when we first got there. The activities you can do here are the following:
- Rent a bike from 8am-5pm at Php60.00 per hour.
- Ride the water taxi from Solenad to the Evoliving Center and back. It's also open from 8am-5pm. Fare is Php15/one way and the boat can accommodate 12 persons.
- Feed the fish from 8am-5pm. You can buy a cup of fish food for Php15.00.
As for us, we stayed in Solenad for a while and enjoyed the view of the lake.
We dined at Uncle Cheffy while waiting for the sun to set. It was a really beautiful view.
We then crossed the street to the other side and checked out the many outlet stores, dining places as well as bazaar Nuvali has to offer.
PASEO, Greenfield City
Wen we got tired of shopping in Nuvali, we decided to drop by Paseo de Sta. Rosa. It was our first time there and we were surprised at how big this place is!
From the main highway, Paseo just looks like a long strip of outlet stores. But once we got inside, we were amazed at the size of the entire property littered with numerous dining and shopping outlets.
Too bad we arrived at around past 8pm and many of the outlet stores were already closed. We promised to drop by the next day (which we did and bought my Nike Air Max 1 sneakers and Charles & Keith strappy heels).
Checking out Nuvali and Paseo that Saturday was really a great idea. At least now, I'm no longer confined to just spending a lazy weekend in Festival Mall or Alabang Town Center. Now, I have Nuvali and Greenfield City's Paseo de Sta. Rosa as additional options. Looking forward to exploring more shopping and dining places nearby. (^_^)
